Activity Books

In 2007, 3rd grade students from Tongue River Elementary School in Ranchester created a coloring and activity book based on local history. The students worked with their teachers and the Curator of Museum Education to pick the topics, write the text, and create unique activities for each letter of the alphabet. Their final project, the Sheridan County History ABC Coloring & Activity Book, was printed and is available for purchase in the Museum Mercantile and local bookstores.

Oral Histories

history003Area students had the opportunity to plan a history luncheon on the Museum’s porch where they were given the opportunity to talk with people that lived and worked in some of the nearby mining towns such as Monarch, Acme, Kleenburn, and Dietz.

The resulting experience was an amazing opportunity for these two generations to learn from one another.
