The Sheridan County Museum is your first stop in introducing young people to local history and regional history. The Museum has a wide range of resources (dioramas, maps, photographs and artifacts) to help youth explore Sheridan County’s past and the connection to the present.
Scheduling A Field Trip
Please contact our Curator of Museum Education or calling the SCM at (307) 675-1150. To avoid potential conflicts, please schedule any field trip or visit at least three weeks in advance.
Field Trip Times
The SCM is available for field trips and visits throughout the year. Field trips are scheduled between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Contact the SCM’s Curator of Education to schedule a specific date and time. Please note that some exhibits might be unavailable during the off-season months (January-April).
There is no charge for educational field trips or visits, no matter student age. Teachers, chaperons, and bus drivers are included in the free admission. There is no charge for home school groups as well.
All of the education programs offered by the Sheridan County Museum are designed to meet a number of state and local academic standards. Museum programs can be tailored to fit with teacher lessons plans and the topics that you will have covered prior to your visit.
We look forward to working with you and helping to make learning about the past a memorable experience!
