The Sheridan County Historical Society and Museum will be hosting walking tours of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. The walking tours will explore local history through the lives of past residents, both prominent and less well-known.
Our first tour begins at 10:00 am with a second tour commencing at 2:00 pm. All tours will be held at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Participants should meet at the old main cemetery gates.
All tours are weather-dependent. Participants should dress appropriately for weather conditions, wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a water bottle. Each tour will last for about an hour-and-a-half.
All tours will be led by a team of cemetery history experts, Jeff and Tammy Mansfield. They will locate graves of former Sheridan residents, both military and civilian, and discuss each person’s contribution(s) to the history of the Sheridan area. Participants may wish to sign up for more than one tour, as the content of each will be somewhat different.
Cost for each tour is $10.00 per person, and there are a limited number of spaces available. Participants may sign up for the cemetery tours by calling the Sheridan County Museum at: 307-675-1150, stopping by the museum at: 850 Sibley Circle, Sheridan, Wyoming, or they may shop online at: www.sheridanmuseum.org.
