Cemetery Tours Return in September & October


Did you know over 20,000 people are buried in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery? Those include some of Sheridan’s founding fathers including John D. Loucks and Henry Held. It also includes some of Sheridan’s worst like John Walsh. Walking the rows of headstones provides a glimpse back through time at Sheridan County’s past.

Join Museum Director John Woodward as he journey’s back through Sheridan County’s past with guided tours of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. The SCHS&M will be hosting tours September 30, October 7, and October 14. John will be leading two tours each day, at 10 am and 2 pm. Individuals visited on this year’s tour include Dr. William Frackelton, Pearl Logan, Bill Gollings, Horton S. Boal, Henry Held, and others.

The tours are a ticketed event. Tickets are $7 apiece. You can purchase them online today or at the Museum. Tours are about 1.5 hours long, guest will be walking or standing for most of the tour. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear.
